When in Michigan's Thumb check out some of our Local Attractions. Huron City Museum is located at 7930 Huron City Road. The museum offers guided tours of a restored 1850's lumbering village, including a country store, log cabin, a church, a U.S. life saving station and the House of Seven Gables. Open July-Labor Day.  Port Hope: Home of the Thumb Bottomland Preserve. Scuba divers can explore numerous shipwrecks. Fishermen can enjoy Harbor Beach, Port Hope, Grindstone City Harbor or Port Austin. Always good fishing in the thumb. Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse: Located at Lighthouse County Park it was put in service in 1848 and stands at 89 feet.
